Medical & Special Assistance Information

At SewaTravel.com, your safety, health, and comfort are our top priorities. Whether you're planning an adventure, cultural trip, or long-distance travel, it's essential to ensure you're medically fit and well-prepared for your journey. Below are our recommendations and guidelines for travelers with medical needs, pregnant passengers, or those requiring special assistance.

🩺 Health Precautions & Vaccinations

Although vaccinations are not mandatory for entry into Nepal, we strongly recommend the following for your protection:

Hepatitis A

Typhoid

Meningitis

Routine immunizations like Tetanus, Polio, Measles, and Mumps

Please consult your healthcare provider before traveling to Nepal or other destinations we serve, especially if you have a pre-existing condition or are undergoing treatment.

Tip: Carry your personal medications in your hand luggage so they are easily accessible during your trip.

🀰 Traveling While Pregnant

If you're more than 28 weeks pregnant, you’ll need to present a medical certificate from your doctor confirming your fitness to travel. This is important for your safety and that of your unborn child, especially for longer journeys, high-altitude travel, or remote-area tours.

πŸ§‘β€βš•οΈ Medical & Special Travel Assistance

If you or someone in your group requires special medical support, such as:

Oxygen cylinders

Stretcher service

Medical monitoring

Wheelchair access or other mobility assistance

Please notify us well in advance so we can coordinate with the relevant airline, hospital, hotel, or local support services.

You'll be required to provide:

A medical clearance certificate from a registered doctor

Details of your condition and the type of assistance required

An Indemnity Bond signed by a family member or travel companion (if applicable)

πŸ“ Who Needs Medical Documentation?

We may request medical clearance or a doctor's certificate for travelers in the following situations:

Traveling with special medical equipment or requiring oxygen

Recovering from a recent surgery, illness, or hospitalization

Suffering from a chronic medical condition that may need monitoring

If there are concerns about fitness to travel, especially in remote or high-altitude locations

A personal care assistant may be required to accompany the traveler, especially if they are unable to manage independently.

β™Ώ Travelers with Reduced Mobility (PRM)

Travelers with reduced mobility can absolutely explore Nepal and beyond with us. However, if your condition requires special assistance or medical clearance, you'll need to submit a Medical Information Form (MEDIF).

What is a MEDIF?

A MEDIF is a medical form completed by your treating doctor that includes:

Information on your medical condition

Any special assistance or medical equipment needed

Confirmation of your fitness to travel

When to submit:

Submit the form at least 48 hours before your scheduled travel

It must be based on a medical checkup done within 14 days of your trip

A MEDIF is not required if you only need a wheelchair due to age or minor mobility issues.

In some cases, a Frequent Traveller’s Medical Card (FREMEC) or previously issued medical certificate for a stable condition may also be accepted.
